BüG is a gender & season-less jewellery project by Inés Sendra. At BüG, we think of jewellery as living entities. Our pieces excel in standing the test of time, joining the beauty of aging. By blending ancient craftsmanship with design, we create jewellery that honors the past while looking forward to the future. All BüGs are co-created with local artisans in Montevideo, Uruguay.

"I started to design and fabricate jewellery more than 7 years ago, following a passion that many believe I carry in my genes. My great-grandfather started a jewellery in Buenos Aires after emigrating from Spain and called it “Sendra” in honor of his family name. My grandfather (his son) continued the tradition by starting another jewellery store in Montevideo called “Joyeria Biarritz”. I still remember visiting the store with my dad as a small kid before it closed for good some years later. After studying and working in other areas of knowledge I began to get interested in the craft of jewellery. What started as a self-taught initiative became a passion for the craft of Jewell-making, one that I continue to explore everyday with the help of many amazing local craftsmen. BüG works today with an organic group of independent craftsmen that contribute their talents into the fabrication of every piece. This project is a daily reminder of the importance of making informed decisions about what we consume, to understand the value of traceability and to support & believe in local production." Inés
